Joplin woman sentenced for role in 2020 kidnapping and murder
JOPLIN, Mo. — A Joplin woman will spend time behind bars for her involvement in a murder.
Carla Jo Ward, 50, is sentenced to 10 years in federal prison without parole.
She'll also serve eight years of supervised release.
This sentence stems from her involvement in the July 2020 kidnapping and murder of 41-year-old Michael Hall.
Hall's body was found at a property in rural Newton County.
Four other individuals involved in the murder have already received their prison sentences.

As for Ward, she's charged with one count of kidnapping, along with four counts of unlawful transport of firearms.
