Joseph P. Krugel Sr., 62, of Wilkes-Barre Township Boulevard, Wilkes-Barre
Township, died Tuesday morning at his home.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre Township, February 6, 1942, a son of Lucille
(Gottlieb) Krugel of Wilkes-Barre Township and the late John J. Krugel.
He was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Township High School and of King’s
College. He received his Master’s Degree in Business from the University of
Scranton.
Mr. Krugel owned and operated Krugel’s Place in Wilkes-Barre Township. He
was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Wilkes-Barre Township. He was also a
member of the Friar’s Club, the Wilkes-Barre Township Lions Club, the
Wilkes-Barre Township Democratic Committee and the Wilkes-Barre Sportsman’s
Club.
Surviving in addition to his mother are daughters, Lisa Gurdock, Laurel
Run; Suzette Drendall, Enola, Pa.; sons, Joseph P. Krugel Jr., Hanover
Township; Kevin J. Krugel, Parsons; six grandchildren; companion, Anne
Ritsick, Larksville; sisters, Karen Nat, Lake Ariel; Kristine Considine,
Kingston; nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9 from the Nat & Gawlas
Funeral Home, Park Avenue and South Street, Wilkes-Barre, with a Funeral Mass
at 9:30 in St. Joseph’s Church, Wilkes-Barre Township. Interment will be in
St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
