Josh Allen’s Superman run ended Chiefs’ undefeated season

Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs , the Buffalo Bills needed one more big play from Josh Allen to knock off Patrick Mahomes and company. And they got it. With just over three minutes remaining, the Bills held a 23-21 lead over the Chiefs but faced a critical decision. Facing 4th and 2 at the Kansas City 26-yard line, head coach Sean McDermott had to decide between a 43-yard field goal try that would potentially give the Bills a five-point lead, or leaving Allen on the field to attempt the fourth down try. He trusted his quarterback, and Allen rewarded that trust with perhaps the play of the year: Allen dropped into the pocket as the Bills ran a mesh concept, with receivers crossing underneath. But with the Chiefs covering those routes well, Allen tucked the football and turned upfield, easily picking up the first down. But he did not stop there, as Allen barreled into the end zone with the touchdown on what Jim Nantz up in the booth for CBS Sports called "the play of the year." He might have a point. Here is another look at Allen's heroics: Kansas City had a chance to respond, but Terrel Bernard intercepted a Mahomes throw on 4th and 13 to seal the victory for Buffalo. The Bills-Chiefs rivalry has delivered some incredible moments in the past few seasons, but Allen's Superman effort might be the best moment yet. Especially if you are a Bills fan.
