Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe scored his team's final 11 points to lead Portland to a 114-110 win over the Atlanta Hawks Sunday afternoon at the Moda Center.

Sharpe hit a deep three-pointer, got a steal, and made several free throws to help put the win away.

The back-and-forth contest saw both teams seemingly take command before the other would make a run.

It all boiled down to the final 1:20 with the Hawks up 108-106.

That led to Sharpe taking and making a deep three as the shot clock expired to give the Blazers a 109-108 lead with 1:02 remaining.

On the Hawks' next possession, Jerami Grant blocked a shot attempt inside by Vit Krejci but the Hawks got the rebound. Seconds later, Sharpe made a steal. He later drove to hoop and was fouled by Onyeka Okongwu with 18.2 on the clock.

Sharpe made both free throws to put the Blazers up 111-108 with 11.1 on the clock.

The Hawks got a quick two and then fouled Sharpe, who made just one of two free throws to leave the score at 112-110.

Trae Young made a bad pass and Sharpe got the ball and was fouled yet again. He hit both free throws to end the game.

Sharpe led all scorers with 32 points and five assists. Dalano Banton came off the bench to score 23 points. Robert Williams III had 14 points and eight rebounds.

Young led the Hawks with 29 points and eight assists.

The Blazers committed eight turnovers in the first quarter, which led to nine points for the Hawks, who led by as much as 16 and entered the second quarter up 33-21. But they played much better in the second quarter, shooting 50% from the field and committing just three turnovers while the Hawks coughed up 10.

Still, the Blazers trailed 64-56 at halftime.

Portland flipped the game with a 38-17 third quarter. Sharpe scored 13 in the quarter and the Blazers shot 62.5% from the field and 6 of 8 on threes.

Atlanta shot 35.3% and committed eight turnovers.

Portland led 94-81 entering the fourth quarter.

Everything flipped again in the fourth quarter. The Hawks jumped out to an 18-5 run and tied the game at 99-99 with a Young three-pointer at the 5:30 mark.

WHAT IT MEANS

The Blazers (6-8) used their three days off following winning two in a row over Minnesota to rest, practice and recharge their collective batteries. That effort paid off with a win over a solid Hawks team (6-8) who defeated Boston (11-2) a few days ago.

CLINGAN STRUGGLED

Rookie center Donovan Clingan wasn't nearly as impactful as he was Wednesday against Minnesota when he finished with 17 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocked shots.

Clingan scored six points with eight rebounds and three blocked shots.

AYTON, SIMONS OUT

Center Deandre Ayton (right index finger) missed his third game and Anfernee Simons missed his second.

According to the Blazers, additional imaging of Ayton's right index finger revealed a deep contusion of the proximal phalanx. His status will be updated when appropriate.

Anfernee Simons (illness) was feeling better, Billups said, but still not well enough to play. Mattise Thybulle (knee) has yet to play this season.

NEXT UP

The Blazers play at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Oklahoma City Thunder.
