JUNCTION CITY ( KSNT ) – Friday, June 28, a massive storm hit local towns, including Junction City.

Shannan Himmaugh has been renting her house for seven years. When a tree came crashing through the house, it destroyed her bed. Luckily, she had just left the room to do laundry.

"Everything was water damaged. It was crushed," Himmaugh said. "The bed, that tree would have landed right on my head. And I wouldn't be here at all."

Himmaugh is due for a knee replacement and open heart surgery in the coming months. Her father passed away three years ago. Shannan and one of her sons are currently staying in a hotel, awaiting a new place to live.

"Everything that we had is trash," she said. "It's crushed. It's destroyed. I'm really upset about the pictures and stuff, and my dad's stuff. Because, I can't replace that, you know. But, everything else can be replaced. We can't be replaced. But, we'll be okay. We'll be okay."

Neighbors that 27 News spoke with said that the Junction City community came together to help each other out.
