JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL: Cravens, Ariton down rival G.W. Long
Paxton Cravens had 16 points and Titus Senn seven points to lead the Ariton junior high boys basketball team to a 32-29 win over county rival G.W. Long on Monday night.
Kyrie McLeod had 10 points and Jacob Pruiett eight points to lead G.W. Long.
Northside Methodist 23, Wicksburg 17: Michael Price had seven points, six rebounds and seven block shots to lead Northside Methodist Academy over Wicksburg.
Carson Kornegay followed with seven points and four rebounds and Ayden Ammons added 10 rebounds and five steals.
Daleville 36, Headland 24: Jacob Rivera led Daleville with 14 points, followed by Malik Sylvain with 12.
Kinston 45, Opp 8th grade 39: JD Hart had 19 points, Parker Weeks 14 points and Evan Hilburn eight points to lead Kinston.
Anthony Morrow had 11 points and 15 rebounds, Reid Day eight points and Travis Collins six points and five rebounds to lead Opp.
Providence Christian gray 32, Pike Liberal Arts 26: Cal Wright had eight points, Corwin Thomas seven points and Benton Thompson six points to lead the PCS gray team.
Providence Christian blue 48, Pike Liberal Arts 21: Winston Bass led the PCS blue team with 14 points, followed by Hudson Snell with six points as 10 of the 12 PCS players scored.
Geneva 57, Geneva County 29: Keshan Stevens had 14 points, Simeon Scobie 10 and Cooper White eight to lead Geneva.
Logan Ford had seven points to lead Geneva County.
Ariton JV girls 36, G.W. Long 20: KJ Woodfaulk had 20 points and Kam Kilpatrick five to lead Ariton.
Kayli Cordell had nine points and Helen Hagler eight for G.W. Long.
Geneva 51, Geneva County 8: Holli Howell had a game-high 10 points and Annsley Adams added eight, Synia Williams seven points and Delaney Ellenburg and Sidonna Scobie six points each to lead Geneva.
Bella Wambles had four points to lead Geneva County.
Slocomb 31, Samson 17: Quinn Bennett had 16 points to lead Slocomb.
Bella Johnson led Samson with 11 points.
Kinston 47, Opp 14: For Opp, Saniyah Stephens had five points and four rebounds. Jayla Bell had five rebounds and both Samantha Robertson and Lauren Adams had four rebounds. Adams also had four block shots for the Bobcats.
