Kalen DeBoer debunks rumor about wife's pregnancy after radio show question
As is tradition on Hey Coach and The Kalen DeBoer Show, Peewee from Grand Bay was the first caller Wednesday night. Before his question, he wanted to congratulate the coach on his wife's pregnancy after seeing an "announcement."
There was one problem, though. DeBoer and his wife aren't expecting a third child. It was a false rumor going around Facebook and other social media.
"Before I say anything, I would just like to say congratulations to you and your wife on the announcement of y'all's third child," Peewee said . "Now, you're gonna have a born and bred Alabamian in the family, so we're gonna have to keep you around here for a while."
DeBoer and show host Chris Stewart had a good laugh about the rumor, and the coach made sure to let Peewee know he wasn't the first person to reach out. In fact, DeBoer received plenty of messages about the "news."
"Peewee, I hate to burst your bubble on that one, but that's something that's been happening with a lot of people, not just me," DeBoer said. "It's crazy. The only reason I know is because I got a lot of text messages saying congratulations."
Kalen DeBoer and Alabama are currently getting ready for a key matchup with plenty of College Football Playoff implications. A road trip to for a night game in Death Valley is coming up on Saturday, and considering both teams' positions in the first rankings , it could serve as an "elimination game" of sorts.
