Kansas City ride service offering free rides on Election Day
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City ride service is offering free rides for people to get to the polls on Election Day.
It's not just poll workers getting ready for a busy Election Day. Rideshare drivers are also preparing to work all day, getting people to and from the polls.
In Kansas City, Missouri, a local ride service is adding to its fleet and offering free rides on Tuesday.
The service is call IRIS. The free rides are part of the city's "Vote Your Voice" initiative, providing residents with services. You'll need to download the app to book a ride.

As early voting locations close, the number of voters is coming in.
According to the Kansas City Election Board, 55,000 people have voted and they expect to hit 90,000 total by Tuesday night.
"I would say in 08 and 12 we saw something similar but never exactly like this, this is amazing," said Democratic Director of KCEB Lauri Ealom.
Long wait times to vote may be unavoidable, but Kansas City Area Transportation Authority and IRIS is adding 10 cars to its fleet, including bigger vehicles for group rides.
"It should be accessible said one voter. "Voting should be accessible and it should be more accessible than it already is."
Transportation services will be available 30 minutes before polling locations open and 30 minutes after they close. All you need to do is download the app, fine the nearest pick up location and type in your polling location.
"That is highly important because not everyone can have transportation to get to where they need to go and free transportation makes it a good thing to come out and vote," said voter Brian Riggins.
IRIS covers all of Kansas City, Missouri, Gladstone, Riverside, Liberty and Raytown.

"One way or the other there's 10 different ways to get here so make sure you come out and vote," Ealom said.
