Kate Winslet looked chic while discussing her new film Lee with cast member Andrea Riseborough in West Hollywood, California on Thursday.

The actress, 48, took to the stage at the Pacific Design Center for a special screening and discussion of her latest project.

The Titanic icon chatted about the biopic which tells the story of American ex-model Lee Miller who took photographs of poignant moments during World War II for Vogue magazine.

Kate donned a pair of black Capri trousers and an oversized white blazer for the event.

The blonde beauty added a pair of pointed black slingback high heels and accessorised with a few gold rings and a pair of statement chunky black glasses.

The Oscar-winning actress seemed serious as she talked thorough the film with her co-star who wore a similar black and white outfit.

Andrea, 42, wore a pair of wide white trousers and a black velvet jacket.

The To Leslie actress finished her look off with large gold earrings and red lipstick and the pair.

The pair were also joined by cat members Andy Samberg and Kate Solomon for the event.

Andy wore a pair of brown trousers and a black jacket while Kate Soloman opted for a loose white shirt and grey trousers with white shoes.

The discussion comes after Kate revealed she was told to hide her 'belly rolls' on the Lee Miller biopic film set .

Speaking to the BBC's Laura Kuenssberg earlier this month, the star explaiend she thought it was important to celebrate 'being a real shape and being soft and maybe having a few extra rolls'.

She said: 'It was my job to be like Lee. She wasn't lifting weights and doing Pilates, she was eating cheese, bread and drinking wine and not making a big deal of it, so of course her body would be soft.'

'But I think we're so used to perhaps not necessarily seeing that and enjoying it – the instinct, weirdly, is to see it and criticise it or comment on it in some way.

'It's interesting how much people do like labels for women. And they very much liked them in Lee's day, and, annoyingly, they sort of still do – we slap these labels on women that we just don't have for men. It's absolutely bizarre to me.'

Kate added that she believes women should be having conversations about the labels given to women depending on their body shape.

She said: 'Life is too short, do you know? I don't want to look back and go "Why did I worry about that thing?" And so, guess what? I don't worry anymore. I don't care.

'I'm just going to live my life, going to enjoy it, get on with it. You've got one go around – make the most of it.'

It comes after the Revolutionary Road star told Harper's Bazaar magazine earlier this month that she is 'going easy' on herself after struggling to balance all of the expectations put on her as a woman.

She said: 'As women, we try and keep up with the pace of our lives and we get frustrated if we haven't managed to fit in doing some exercise or walking the dog for two hours or being there for every single sports day matches, drop off and pick up at school.

'I'm going easy on myself knowing I simply can't achieve all of those things – that's becoming increasingly important to me.'

And Kate has been living true to her philosophy and put on a glamorous display as she attended the London premiere of her new war film Lee at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square earlier in September.

The star turned heads in a plunging black and gold gown as she dazzled while promoting the new film.

The cleavage-baring number had pretty capped sleeves and glittery detailing and flaunted her gorgeous curves.

She wore her blonde tresses in loose waves over her shoulders and opted for a glowing makeup look.

Lee is in cinemas now.
