Katie Pratt
Katie Pratt is a nightside reporter for FOX 7 Austin News.
Katie first discovered her passion for being in front of the camera in 2009 when she began doing television and radio commercials for her dad's business. The commercials were largely recognized in the East Texas area and remembered for the tagline, "Go by and see my daddy..."
In high school, her dad took her to see her first LIVE newscast on set. At that moment, Katie knew she wanted to be a journalist. She feels blessed to work in the great state of Texas, where she first discovered her love and passion for what has grown into a career.
She graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where she received a B.A. from Meadows School of the Arts. She majored in journalism with a focus on broadcast and minored in history. Katie was also the managing editor for the student-run broadcast show The Daily Update on SMU-TV.
Katie started her broadcast career in her hometown of Tyler, Texas, at KETK-NBC News and Fox51 News. She started working as a weekend news anchor and reporter. After one year, she was promoted to evening news anchor. Katie left The Piney Woods after three years and moved to the state capital in 2024.
