Katy Perry reveals why she's voting for Kamala Harris over Trump in the VP's star-studded final plea to voters

Superstar Katy Perry roared onto the 2024 campaign scene on Election Day eve to endorse Kamala Harris for president and rally support for her ahead of people heading to the polls on Tuesday.

The singer appeared at the vice president's rally near Pittsburgh where she performed after Harris left the stage having delivered her own stump speech.

Perry, wearing a sparkly blue top and black skirt started out by singing Dark Horse and then declared 'my body, my choice' before launching into her song Part of Me.

Perry said becoming a mother four years ago is her reason for voting for Harris.

'Orlando and I welcomed our daughter Daisy, and she is the reason I am voting for Kamala Harris,' Perry said.

The singer sounded slightly out of breath as she shared that she has known Harris since before she was even a senator and that the vice president has always fought for the most vulnerable and will protect women's rights.

'I know she will protect my daughter's future, and your children's future and our families' future,' she added.

'We are not going back,' Perry yelled as she ended her set with Firework.

Right before Perry took the stage, Harris also spok.

Contrary to critics' claims about the celebrity appearances, the vice president was clearly the main attraction. After Harris' exit, some people left before Perry even started her performance.

The vice president made her second to last stop on the day before Election Day near Pittsburgh, the state's second biggest city and largest city in western Pennsylvania where she asked attendees for their vote.

The vice president has been hitting an optimistic note in the final stretch, acknowledging for a second day that she has the momentum.

However, she warned 'the race isn't over, and we must finish strong.'

'Make no mistake, we will win,' Harris declared.

Grammy winning singer and Oscar-nominated actress Andra Day, who is known for her portrayal of Billie Holliday, also performed earlier in the evening.

Day performed three songs including Rise Up which was also used on the campaign trail by Hillary Clinton. She also performed a new song Empty live for the first time.

Notably absent from the night's rallies was Taylor Swift despite some hoping she would make a surprise appearance in Pennsylvania. Instead she was spotted at the Chiefs' game.

Crowds gathered throughout the afternoon hours before Harris even landed in the western part of the state.

The rally took place in the shadow of the Carries Blast Furnaces National Historic Landmark. It is the remnant of the once massive U.S. Steel Homestead Steel Works along the Monongahela River and pays homage to the city's past dominance in the steel industry.

Signs running along the road leading up to the venue read 'steel workers for Harris' as multiple attendees wore union shirts. Harris is looking to shore up union worker support in the state.

Other supporters ranging from young children to seniors were decked out in Harris t-shirt and hats or black and yellow Steelers gear as expected in Yinzer country.

While there was a lot of Harris-Walz signs, multiple people waved the yellow 'terrible towels' seen at Steelers games before the vice president was set to speak.

A DJ blasted toons all afternoon from Beyonce's Girls to YMCA and Wiz Khalifa's Black and Yellow, Pittsburgh's unofficial anthem.

The stage was lined with blue signs that read 'Vote for Freedom' while massive American flags were lit up behind the crowds of supporters who waved smaller American flags.

Biden won Allegheny County with nearly 60 percent of support in 2020, but Harris needs to run up turnout here in order to win the Keystone State.
