KSR takes on Knoxville to watch Kentucky lose to Tennessee (again)
Good news: Kentucky had won 50 percent of its games in Knoxville since 2020 going into this year's matchup. Bad news: that was a single win and a massive outlier with limited attendance during a pandemic, Tennessee winning three straight head-to-head battles since.
That streak moved to four straight wins on Saturday when the Volunteers served up yet another loss to the Wildcats, this time in the form of a 28-18 finish.
When you've now lost eight out of ten to the folks in gaudy orange, you don't make the trip to Neyland Stadium expecting a win — certainly not the way this season was going. And while Mark Stoops' troops fought hard early, both sides wound up being exactly who we thought they were in the two-score loss for Kentucky.
Still, though, KSR's Steven Peake, Nick Roush, and Adam Luckett made the short trip to the 865 and tried to make the most of it. See the Volunteers enter dark mode as fans in black and orange pour into Neyland and share their blowout predictions, squirm ever-so-slightly when the Wildcats kept it close going into halftime before celebrating the rest of the way en route to another rivalry win.
"Why did you let me believe? I didn't want to believe."
Truer words have never been spoken, Mr. Roush.
Maybe next time.
