Ladd McConkey injury: Chargers WR leaves game after hard hit

E.Chen31 min ago

Ladd McConkey was injured in a Sunday Night Football game against the Cincinnati Bengals, taken to the injury tent immediately after a hard fall.

McConkey was hurt after he caught a 20-yard pass from quarterback Justin Herbert as he was ranging toward the sidelines.

As he crossed the sideline he was taken to the ground by Cincinnati safety Geno Stone . Ladd McConkey appeared to roll awkwardly on his collarbone and was immediately tended to on the sideline.

McConkey, who dealt with his fair share of injuries while at Georgia, has had a productive rookie year with the Chargers. He had recorded 37 catches for 492 yards and four touchdowns so far in 2024, while also returning three punts for 28 yards.

That came on the heels of Los Angeles selecting him in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. McConkey was the No. 34 overall selection, very nearly a first-rounder.

He has played like it so far.

The talented 6-foot receiver was similarly productive at Georgia. In three years in Athens he compiled 119 catches for 1,687 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also ran 13 times for 216 yards and four scores, showing some real versatility.

Ladd McConkey also played special teams for the Bulldogs, logging 21 punt returns for 279 yards and a lone kick return for 15 yards.

On3 will have more on this developing story shortly.
