Lamar's Kenson Tate is headed back to Eugene, Oregon to compete in U.S. Olympic Trials

BEAUMONT, Texas — The accolades continue to build up for Lamar University.

Second-team All-American Kenson Tate is on his way back to the Pacific Northwest, but this time to compete for the U.S. Olympic Trials!

This is a result of the outstanding season Tate has reigned in.

Scoring a career best 8.02M jump which was 13th best in the nation.

Tate participated in the NCAA Outdoor Championships, just one thing on his resume this year.

Tate would also bring in the Southland Male Athlete of the Year award, Southland Tri-Outstanding Field Performer of the Year, as well as a first-team all-conference selection.

The next time we'll see Tate in action will be on Monday, June 24th at 9:25PM on NBC.
