Elaine, I was a high school classmate of Larrys. He was always kind yet liked to tease us girls I appreciated his love of his faith even at that age It seemed he always kept NE in his heart I am sorry for you and family loss. Mr. Carmann was my math teacher and 8th grade basketball coach around 1980. He would always say in practice, might not be exact wordage, "It's a sin to let someone drive the baseline." Your a good man Mr. Carmann. Sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Carmann. He was a great teacher, made math fun for me, I don ́t know how he did that to this day. God Bless! Sympathy and prayers to Elaine and children. Being a Riverdale boy Larry and I crossed paths many times. He was always so positive and kind. His dry humor will never be forgotten! One summer he volunteered to be the youth director for Walther League at Trinity Lutheran. He was entering his sophomore year at Kearney State. The subject for the night was poverty and feeding God's sheep. One youth spoke up and said, "Education is the answer". Larry wryly shot back, "But you can't eat books". It was an interesting youth night discussion from then on. We had the honor of being teachers with Larry and Marcia at Grand Island Senior High School. Larry was very involved in our community and always greeted you with a smile. Thoughts and prayers are with Julie, Tim, his bonus children and Elaine. Rest in Peace Larry and say hello to Marcia. I had Mr. Carmann at Barr in the 80's. He was one of my favorite teachers ever! Such a neat guy. I still remember the posters he had hanging in his room, especially the Hippo Birdie Two Ewe one. I am sorry for your loss. Elaine, we are saddened to learn of Larry ́s passing. He was a great high school classmate and fun to be around. I ́m so sorry for you and your family. Larry was my Sunday school teacher for a year many years ago at Trinity Lutheran in Amherst Ne. He was always so kind as was his whole family. My sympathy to his family. Mr. Carmann was one of my favorite teachers. I had him for math at Barr Jr High in the mid-80s. Such a great teacher of math as well as being so kind and interested in each student. My prayers to his family. Mr. Carmann was my math teacher at Barr Jr High in the early 70's. He was amazing and I learned to love math because of him. He was always such a gentle soul and cared so deeply about his student. Thoughts and prayer are with the family during this difficult time. Thanks for all you did for me Mr. Carmann. Dan and I have fond memories working with Larry. He was a role model to many teachers and an amazing teacher. We were so fortunate to have him lead our educational path.
