H.Wilson3 hr ago

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Catherine Larsen, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on October 29, 2024, at the age of 94. Catherine was born on August 12, 1930, in Oakland, California, and spent her life dedicated to her family.

Catherine was a dedicated and nurturing mother, raising five children who filled her days with love and laughter. She embraced the role of a cherished grandmother to six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, each bringing her boundless joy and a sense of wonder. Throughout her life, Catherine deeply appreciated the enchanting world of opera, often losing herself in its melodies and stories. She found solace among the towering, big trees of the sequoias and redwoods, which she lovingly called "her cathedral." She experienced a profound sense of peace and contentment when surrounded by nature's beauty. Catherine's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, reminding us to cherish each moment and extend our kindness to others. She will be dearly missed.

Catherine is survived by her two living children, Jack and Laura; their spouses, Nancie and Douglas; grandchildren, Teicia, Warren, Thatcher, Tabitha, Natalie, and Chris; and nine great-grandchildren who admired her warmth and resilience. She was predeceased by her loving children, Richard, William (Bill) and George.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Mountain Shadow Cemetery (Lyons Bald Mountain Road at Greenley Sonora, California), where family, friends, and neighbors are invited to share their memories and honor her legacy.
