Latest round of conference realignment affects Hawaii
As of Monday, the University of Hawaii is still a football-only member of the Mountain West conference, although that could change.
Sources close to the situation tell KHON2 that Hawaii has held discussions with the Pac-12 Conference and Mountain West.

On Sept. 12, the Pac-12 Conference announced it was adding Boise State, Fresno State, San Diego State and Colorado State, taking the four schools away from the Mountain West Conference.
On Monday, Utah State finalized an agreement to join the Pac-12.
Counting Utah State's defection, the Mountain West and Pac-12 are currently down to seven members. The minimum amount of teams required to remain a conference in the NCAA is eight.
Air Force and UNLV initially committed to remain in the Mountain West, but according to multiple reports, Utah State's departure has caused UNLV to reconsider joining the Pac-12.
