Lemon Street Gallery hosting garage sale

C.Chen2 hr ago

Lemon Street Gallery & ArtSpace, 4601 Sheridan Road, is hosting a garage sale fundraiser today through Sunday.

Proceeds from the sale will be used for the gallery's renovation project, designed to "bring a dynamic new classroom space to the heart of Kenosha," Lemon Street officials said.

The garage sale is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 20-22, and will feature art supplies, including paints, pens, paper, markers, pastels, inks, canvases and what Lemon Street officials call "other fun surprises."

During the renovation, Lemon Street's garage will be converted into a fully equipped classroom, allowing the gallery to "offer a broader range of classes, including drawing, mosaic, fiber arts, photography and watercolor, making the arts more accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds."

The space will also be a place "where the Kenosha community can come together to learn, grow and connect through the power of art," said Shelby Nesmith, Lemon Street's executive director.

The gallery is also seeking sponsors and donors to help with the project. A Halloween-themed 25th anniversary fundraising event is set for 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 26 at the gallery, where visitors "can learn more about how you can get involved in this transformative project."
