Letter: Grocery store security out of control

N.Adams42 min ago

Albertsons is putting customers in danger.

Recently, I could not enter the Albertsons I have shopped at for 40 years while raising a family because a security guard was physically assaulting a shoplifter in the doorway and screaming foul words. There was no concern shown for customers who were trying to enter or exit. This store's security guards are violent and uneducated. Oregon news reported that a violent Safeway security guard took the life of a suspected shoplifter.

I am an environmentalist and a UA grad/ AZ certified teacher and parent of UA/Salpointe grads. I have biked 18 years in Tucson to role model alternative transportation. While shopping these aggressive security thugs have blocked my way while pushing my cart, stalked, harassed, and followed me out to my bike. I imagine they are targeting bike riders.

This must stop. This is un-American and that of a police state. Imagine how customers will be treated if Albertsons/Safeway merge with Kroger and take over our grocery shopping options.
