Letter: How big will the blue dot get?
While most of my progressive friends are distraught over Donald Trump winning the presidency and a "red wave" in the county, all I can say is Omaha did our part for the good guys.
Omaha's total votes showed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz carried the city; we voted for Preston Love over Pete Ricketts in the Senate; voted for Tony Vargas over Don Bacon and voted overwhelmingly for medical marijuana (wish it were recreational) and also voted to override the push to allow public money to go to private schools.
All in all, I am proud of my hometown of Omaha.
There is always another election, and since I am a political junkie, now I am interested in our city's municipal campaign next spring and if a three-term mayor who is a registered Republican can win yet again here.
Right now I see dark clouds on the horizon for the GOP at Omaha City Hall next election.
