Letter: Spare us from Harris this November

I didn't vote for Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. I wanted Nikki Haley in 2024. Trump's bossy personality annoys me, and he tends to over engage during conversations. However, during his prior administration, inflation was in check, energy prices were stable, and our borders were somewhat secure. He also motivated other NATO nations to contribute their fair share to pay for their own defense. He had the respect of our overseas friends and foes alike. Our country was in fairly good shape. But at the beginning of his final year in office, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Even though early on Trump put into place a travel ban from mainland China, it didn't prevent the spread of the virus into the U.S. Beyond the multitudes of deaths and illnesses caused by the virus, the economy was in turmoil. Massive federal spending was required to save lives and avoid a major depression. There was a long learning curve relative to dealing with this first of its kind catastrophe. People were not happy in 2020, and voted Trump out of office.

The Democrats also ran a smart campaign back in 2020. They did a very good job of keeping their aged candidate out of the public eye. I believe it was nicknamed the "Hidin' Biden" campaign. Unfortunately, for our country, his weak appearance was duly noted by our enemies abroad, and they have become emboldened. The Democrats are at it again with what I believe is the "Spare us from Harris" campaign. They realize Kamala Harris also sports a weak appearance due to her lack of public speaking skills. She lacks any major accomplishments while serving in D.C. I agree that it's a good idea to keep her under wraps and will vote to spare us from Harris this November.
