Lifting up our youth through sharing, praise and worship
When Ray and Leslie Johnson moved to the community of Carberry about 10 years ago from Abbottsford BC, they already had a passion for youth who were struggling.
The Johnsons lead the Community Gathering Center congregation in Carberry, as well as Resurrection Life Ministries. The pastor couple has partnered with the Carberry ministerial and Westman Youth for Christ to host a full weekend event to be held at the Carberry Fairgrounds in mid-July.
"What we learned in Abbotsford is if we can get people together in a common-ground focus and bring strong community and strong principles and values to community, it's only going to bring a better stronger community in the presence of heaven invading earth, and the Father's love for the community and for the area, for the entire Westman area," shares Pastor Ray. "And so that's how this thing was birthed and that's how it's come together!"
Pastor Johnson has been working with community leaders to build the three days into a truly dynamic weekend for youth!
From overnight camping at the fairgrounds, to youth worship bands from Brandon and Virden, as well as dynamic speakers from Carberry and from other communities, they are anticipating hundreds of youth from across the province.
