LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) – The Lisbon girls basketball program turns the keys over to one of its own: longtime assistant and point guard of the 1989 Final Four team Nikki Meek.

"This year's team has come to the gym ready to work hard and push each other to do better each practice," Meek said. "They're embracing each other and are learning the importance of team chemistry, along with setting team goals within their reach. Their willingness to be tenacious and dedicated to each other will be a strength this year along with positive attitudes, playing hard, and consistent effort. They're striving to get the results that not only they can be proud of but also their family, their school, and their community."

After graduating four key players – Morgan Lively, Brooklyn Cousins, Amore Ramos, Alyssa Wells – from last year's group, the Blue Devils welcome back Lylah Brown and Jayden Smyth.

"Lylah has put a lot of work in this offseason; she's added strength training to her skill set and is looking to make an impact," Meek said. "Jayden will look to lead the guard position this year. [They'll be joined] by Michaela Farson, a senior, will be debuting as a varsity player; as she'll look to fill the post position. Michaela has strong individual goals and works every day to push her teammates to be better."

The Blue Devils will tip off the season at Mathews on November 20.
