MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Countless months of campaigning come to an end on Tuesday as voters across the Carolinas and the rest of the U.S. get their chance to weigh in on who will be the nation's next president and to decide numerous other local, state and regional races and issues.

Polls are now open in South Carolina, where nearly a third of South Carolina's registered 3.4 million registered voters have already cast ballots. Polls will close at 7 p.m.
RIDE IV is a big-ticket item on Horry County ballots. If approved, residents will see a one percent sales tax in place for either 25 years or until the county collects $6.6 billion – whichever comes first. The tax seeks to advance more than 30 transportation projects.
Polls are now open in North Carolina, where nearly 4 million of the state's 7.8 million registered voters cast their ballots ahead of time. Polls will close at 7:30 p.m.
The race for governor has garnered the most headlines in the run-up to Election Day. Voters are choosing between Democratic Attorney General Josh Stein and Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson.
