BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Multiple sources are reporting that a live tiger will attend the LSU game against Bama on Saturday, Nov. 9.

WAFB spoke with Rep. Bill Wheat who confirmed the news but could not release any other information. WAFB reached out to LSU for additional details.

Reports say the live tiger will be different from the team's current mascot, Mike VII.

A live tiger at Tiger Stadium was a decades-long tradition for the university, but it was discontinued in 2015 after the death of Mike VI.

Last month, Gov. Jeff Landry called for a live tiger to return to Tiger Stadium.

LSU's game against Alabama kicks off at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.

Paul Skenes and Livvy Dunne were announced as College GameDay Guest Pickers.
