WILKES-BARRE TWP. – Proceeds from a Halloween Haunted House at Sundance Vacations, 264 Highland Park Blvd., across from the Wachovia Arena, will benefit the Luzerne County SPCA. The event will take place today and Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. The $5 entry fee will be donated to the SPCA.
PITTSTON – A Battle of the Bands at 7 tonight at Club Jam, 53 S. Main St., Pittston, will benefit the 1st Lt. Jeffrey DePrimo Memorial Fund, established to honor the memory of the Pittston native who was killed in 2008 in Afghanistan while serving with the Pennsylvania National Guard.
NANTICOKE – The Honey Pot Volunteer Active Fire Department will hold a dedication ceremony for its new fire truck Saturday, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the fire station on Honey Pot Street. The event is open to the public and refreshments will be available.
