JACKSON TWP. – The sirens at the state Correctional Institution at Dallas
might be used throughout the day Monday while maintenance is performed on the
system. No public action is required. Any phone calls related to the siren
updating should be withheld during the testing period.
DURYEA – Council will have a special meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the
municipal building to award the Washington School demolition bid for $63,000
to Brdaric Excavating Inc. The public is invited to attend.
EXETER – A special school board meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at
the Secondary Center Auditorium, 20 Memorial St., for general purposes,
including the adoption of a resolution authorizing the issuance of a series of
general bonds of the Wyoming Area School District.
WILKES-BARRE – Crime Watch will meet for Heights residents at 7 p.m. at the
First Welsh Presbyterian Church, South Meade and East Northampton streets.
WILKES-BARRE – The Northeast Highway Safety Program with the Wilkes-Barre
Health Department and police department will conduct a free car-seat
inspection from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the police department garage,
North Washington Street.

WYOMING – The 2004 school taxes are at rebate value until Oct. 4. Office
hours are from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays and Tuesdays at the borough building.
If a receipt is desired when paying by mail, include a self-addressed, stamped
envelope. Property owners with escrow accounts should forward their tax bill
to their mortgage company for payment.
