(WCBD) – A Mount Pleasant candle store announced they are relocating after financial factors forced the move to a smaller location.

The Oyster Candle Company will close their Scott Street location on Oct. 28, store owners said via Facebook. The business will reopen on Coleman Boulevard at the beginning of November, although the exact address has yet to be announced.

Until the closure, Oyster Candle Co. is having a clearance sale with merchandise up to 75%

"I am not giving up. With the help of my staff, family, friends, and loyal customers, we will fight through this challenging time," Owner Shannon Gallo wrote in a social media statement.

High rent prices coupled with rising prices across the board have led several other local businesses to close their doors permanently including Fatty's Beer Works, Cru Café, and 34 West Theater Company .

Charleston is seeing a wave of restaurant closures. What's causing it?
