Local homeless shelter asks for help from the public for construction
GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — It's been a busy end of the year for one local non-profit in Pitt County.
Community Crossroads Center is the only homeless shelter in Pitt County and it is making massive enhancements to their complex with the addition of another section. The construction project will feature additional family rooms and an expansion of their office buildings as well. Walls are up and the roof is expected to be completed this week. With the continued progress donations are still needed to move things along.
"We have reached about 90% of our financial goal. A total project was about 4.4 million. So we've raised totally about 4.1 million. We're still about $300,000 short. We would love anybody that's interested to help support us, to give us a donation for our capital campaign." said Charles Young, Community Crossroads Center Executive Director.
Young added that the construction is on schedule with the goal of phase 2 completion to be June 30, 2025. For more information on how to donate and learn more about the organization, you can call 252-752-0829 or go to their website .
