Local Results In Tuesday’s 2024 General Election
This victory is not just mine; it belongs to all of you who believe in the vision of a flourishing small business community, affordable housing and a more sustainable future for our community. Your voices, your ideas, and your passion have inspired me every step of the way.
It's not an easy thing to put yourself out there for an election. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my campaign team, the Democratic Party of Los Alamos, volunteers, donors and everyone who contributed their time and energy to this effort.
As I take on this new role, I promise to listen to your concerns, advocate for our shared values, and work to make Los Alamos an even better place to live, work, and play. Thank you once again for your trust and support. Let's get to work and make a positive impact together! Thank you!"
Beverly Neal-Clinton: "Thank you, Los Alamos County! I am truly honored by the trust you have placed in me to serve as your newly elected County Councilor. Tonight, we stand together in commitment to a brighter, more inclusive future for all members of our community.I believe that diversity and inclusivity are the pillars of a truly united community. Together, we will build a county where everyone feels welcome, valued, and empowered to contribute.
Our county's success lies not only in its breathtaking landscapes and scientific legacy but in the strength and resilience of its people. I am deeply aware of the challenges we face, especially when it comes to affordable housing. Every person deserves a place to call home, and I will work tirelessly to make affordable, quality housing a reality for all.
As a small business owner, I know small businesses are the lifeblood of our community, driving innovation, creating jobs, and fostering connections. I am dedicated to continuing to support our local entrepreneurs, ensuring they have access to resources they need to thrive. Our community is at its best when our businesses are strong.
Lastly, I am equally committed to addressing mental health. Good mental health is essential for a thriving community, and I will advocate for increased resources and accessible services so that no one in our county feels alone or unsupported.
In gratitude, I want to thank you again, Los Alamos, for your trust and support. Let's work together to make our county a place of opportunity, empathy, compassion, and growth for all. I look forward to the journey ahead with all of you. Thank you."
David Reagor: "Dear Los Alamos voters, it is a great honor to be reelected in our county. I want to thank the over a hundred people who helped with this campaign. It was far more effort than any one person can do. I will try to thank you individually in the coming days. The support came from all sides with people who want a great town for citizens of all income levels.
Denise Derkacs: "Congratulations to the winning candidates, Ryn Herrmann, Beverly Neal-Clinton, and David Reagor. I wish them all the best in their terms on County Council.
I want to thank everyone in the County who voted in this election. I also want to thank all the election workers who ensured that everyone had the opportunity to vote. And I want to thank the many volunteers for their efforts behind the scenes to support the candidates' campaigns.
It has been an honor serving the people of the County these past four years and working with the dedicated employees of Los Alamos County.
James Wernicke: "Congratulations to Beverly, Ryn, and David as our newly elected Councilors. To my supporters, I couldn't have made it as far as I did—receiving 4,286 (82%) of the 5,236 votes needed to win, up from the 3,548 (70%) of the 5,067 votes in 2022—without you. Together, we transcended party lines to bring fresh perspectives and bold ideas to the table for addressing housing shortages, improving traffic safety, and fostering economic growth.
While things didn't turn out the way we hoped, I'll continue to engage and advocate for transparency, accountability, and innovative solutions for our community. We still have a lot of work to do, and I'm excited to see where we can go together. Thanks for your support, Los Alamos." For state and national election results, click
