Lois Wilson Boulis, Youngstown, Ohio
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Tod Homestead Cemetery for Lois Wilson Boulis who passed away Sunday, October 27 at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.
Lois was born May 16, 1926, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of John Howard and Rhodabelle Medbury Wilson.

She was a graduate of Youngstown University with a BA in Psychology-Sociology and Westminster College with a Master of Science in Psychology-Education. Prior to that she had attended Mercyhurst College, Erie, Pennsylvania and Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. She won the Chi Omega Alumnae Award given annually to the highest-ranking student majoring in the social sciences.
From 1956 to 1960 she was a member of the staff of the Youngstown YWCA as director of adult activities and health education. She joined the Youngstown University Psychology Department full-time in 1960. Her career eventually led her to Woodside Receiving Hospital where she served as a psychologist.
She was a member of: Northeastern Ohio Psychological Association, Ohio Psychological Association, Kapa Delta Pi Honor Society in education, the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology, American Association of University Women and Ohio Folklore Society.
Lois was an avid traveler, supporter of the arts and had a longtime interest in Ohio history. Until her later years, she was an active member and Past President (1988-90) of the Mahoning Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Gust Boulis, MD and her son, Howard Medbury Gray.
She is survived by her niece, Elizabeth Gay Wilson of New Kent County, Virginia; her grandson, Gunnar Wilson Gray of Mill Valley, California and granddaughter, Astrid Kristine Shapiro of Santa Cruz, Califonia.
