A day after the Flint Firebirds ruined London's 2024-25 OHL home opener, London returned the favor Saturday at the Dort Financial Center.

The Knights scored the final two goals of the game for a 5-2 win in front of 3,824 fans.

The Firebirds, who earned a 7-4 win Friday at London, scored first Saturday on a power-play goal from Connor Clattenburg, with assists from Nolan Collins and Christopher Thibodeau.

London scored the next three goals to take a 3-1 lead into the third quarter. Flint's Rylan Fellinger cut the margin to 3-2 with the first goal of the fourth quarter off assists from Thibodeau and Jimmy Lombardi.

But the Knights added a goal, then sealed the win with an empty-net goal with 36 seconds remaining.

Flint outshot London, 35-24, but struggled on the power play, going 1-for-10 with the advantage.

Nathan Day stopped 19 of 23 shots in goal for Flint, while London's Alexei Medvedev finished with 33 saves.

Evan Van Gorp, Jared Wooley and Rene Van Bommel had a goal and assist each for London.

Flint is off until Friday when the Firebirds travel to Kitchener, with a home game Saturday, Oct. 5, against Sarnia.
