Looking for work? Utah hosting free virtual job fair with more than 2,500 jobs available
SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — The Utah Department of Workforce Services will host a free-to-attend virtual job fair on Thursday, Nov. 7, where more than 40 employers are hiring for over 2,500 positions.
The job fair will feature positions in retail, government, e-commerce, transportation, health care, and aerospace and defense, among others. The job fair will be an online-only event running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and can easily be attended through your phone or computer.
"Whether you are looking for part-time, full-time, or seasonal work, the virtual job fair is a great place to connect with multiple employers from the comfort of your own home," said Workforce Development Director Liz Carver. "We hope that anyone looking for a new opportunity or to upscale their career will attend the fair."
Frigid week ahead brings chances of snow in Utah
Those interested in attending the virtual job fair should prepare by uploading their resume and a professional photo to their profile with the Utah Department of Workforce Services. Job seekers should pre-register for the event online at jobs.utah.gov .
After logging in to the event, job seekers will find a digital floor plan with rose of booths, each representing an employer. Clicking on the booths will reveal the company's profile, job openings, and social media accounts.
Job seekers can start a live chat with a hiring representative and share their resume. This can lead to a scheduled interview, a one-on-one video chat, or even an on-the-spot job offer.
In addition to the virtual job fair, the Utah Department of Workforce Services will hold two online workshops on Wednesday, Nov. 6 to help anyone looking for a new job get the most out of the virtual job fair. The first workshop will be held at 10 a.m. and the second will be held at 1 p.m.
