Man arrested, accused of hatchet attack in Jefferson County
DENVER ( KDVR ) — A 35-year-old man is accused of attempting to murder a Kittredge resident with a hatchet on Wednesday, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office reported Thursday.
The incident began at about 8:45 p.m. when deputies received a 911 call from a resident in the area about a man, later identified as 35-year-old Bradley Lindsey, who was walking down the street. Lindsey allegedly told the person to "call the police if they heard gunshots," and continued to a home in the 3400 block of Burnham Drive.

The neighbor was alarmed by the comment, and called 911 immediately, the Jeffco agency said.
Deputies arrived and found Lindsey covered in blood and a 61-year-old male victim in need of medical attention. Lindsey was taken into custody at the scene, and the initial investigation points to Lindsey attacking the 61-year-old with a hatchet, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators spoke with the homeowner, a 74-year-old man, who said he didn't know Lindsey. However, the 61-year-old victim was a tenant in the home and the homeowner was in the process of legally evicting the victim.
The homeowner told officers that Lindsey knocked on the door and had a conversation with the homeowner, who let him inside the residence. During the discussion, Lindsey reportedly made comments about "taking care" of the victim. Investigators did not say if Lindsey was armed when he arrived at the home.
The victim was transported to a hospital with serious injuries but has been treated and released. Lindsey was arrested and booked into the Jefferson County Jail on suspicion of attempted first-degree homicide. The investigation is ongoing.
