A 36-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of exposing himself to students at schools in and around Tustin.

Christopher Scott Shelton of Santa Ana was booked on suspicion of indecent exposure and child annoyance, according to police.

In the last month, three students at Utt Middle School at 13601 Browning Ave. in Tustin reported seeing a man exposing himself from a vehicle as they walked to school, police said. That prompted police to set up surveillance, which led to the arrest, according to the Tustin Police Department.

Officers spotted the suspect pulling up to a student and exposing himself, police said. Shelton was arrested following a traffic stop.

Police also received reports of a suspect exposing himself near Valley High School at 1801 S. Greenville St. in Santa Ana and Tustin High School at 1171 El Camino Real, according to Tustin police Lt. Matt Nunley.

Anyone who may have information relevant to the investigation was asked to call police at 714-573-3200.
