Man Badly Burned In Simsbury Fire: Police The victim was rushed by helicopter to Hartford Hospital Wednesday evening.

SIMSBURY, CT — One person was seriously burned late Wednesday afternoon after a fire badly damaged a home on Quorn Hunt Road in Simsbury.

According to the Simsbury Police Department, emergency personnel from Simsbury, Avon and Canton responded to 41 Quorn Hunt Road for a reported structure fire with injuries to one person.

"Neighbors and first responders immediately tended to the person who was suffering from burns," wrote the SPD in a statement.

Police said the male victim was transported by ambulance and Lifestar helicopter to Hartford Hospital.

The injured person was not a resident of the home, police said.

"Additional fire personnel quickly knocked down a fire that was contained to an attached two-car garage and a vehicle parked in the driveway," wrote the SPD.

Police said the incident is currently under investigation by the Simsbury Fire Marshal's Office, State Fire Marshal's Office, and the Simsbury Police Department.

No information was available on the condition of the burn victim, including his identity.
