Man Charged With Animal Cruelty After Dumping Dog In East Haven

"We were just informed that this boy was dumped. The owner attempted to surrender the dog in surrounding towns and ended up dumping him near 510 Main St. We are asking if anyone in that area has cameras or ring camera footage that could possibly help us in locating the owner. The property of 510 Main Street only has cameras at the main office. We have a feeling that he was dumped near by. The owner also threatened another Animal Control Officer from a near by shelter if they wouldn't take the dog. If you have any information please contact East Haven Animal Shelter at 203-468-3249."

Higgins told Patch that Elijah Jackson of Hamden was charged with animal cruelty. He's due in court Nov. 14.
