Man fatally shot after altercation with group outside apartment, detectives investigating

SAN ANTONIO - A group of people have been detained after allegedly shooting and killing a 19-year-old in an argument outside his Northside apartment.

Around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to the scene of a shooting at an apartment complex along Patricia Drive near West Avenue.

According to officers on the scene, some altercation took place between a 19-year-old male and a group of people wanting to stay at his apartment.

Police say at some point, shots were fired, and the 19-year-old was struck by gunfire. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

As police arrived at the scene, they spotted a vehicle that matched the description given by a witness.

When police attempted to stop the vehicle, the vehicle failed to yield to law enforcement and ultimately crashed at a nearby intersection.

Several people inside the vehicle were destined for questioning. Homicide detectives are investigating the situation.
