Man sent to hospital after Sunday shooting in Peoria

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — A man was sent to a local hospital Sunday after a shooting near Western Avenue and Howett Street.

According to Peoria police spokeswoman Semone Roth, officers responded to a six-round shot spotter at approximately 1:29 a.m. A victim was not located on the scene, but a crime scene was located.

Officers later learned that a 32-year-old man was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

This incident remains under investigation.
