After a pursuit through multiple counties, a North Dakota man was arrested on Friday after allegedly stabbing a man.

A 44-year-old man was arrested by Walsh County deputies and returned to the Grand Forks County Correctional Center following the pursuit.

He has been charged with criminal charges from different counties, including fleeing in a motor vehicle in Grand Forks. Charges for attempted murder have not been filed yet but have been forwarded to the Grand Forks County State Attorney's Office.

Officers of the Grand Forks Police Department were called to 420 Division Avenue at 7:42 a.m. after receiving a report of a man who had been stabbed.

When officers arrived, they found an injured 37-year-old man on the 5th floor, who was taken by ambulance to Altru Emergency Room.

According to the investigation, an argument occurred between at least two people, which resulted in the stabbing. Witnesses on the scene identified the suspect.

Officers later discovered that a construction vehicle – a 2017 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup owned by NorthStar Safety – parked near the Northlands Rescue Mission had been stolen.

An employee used its GPS tracking system to learn that it was traveling northbound on North Washington Street, approaching Bacon Rd.

Deputies from the Grand Forks Sheriff's Department found the truck in the area. While a traffic stop was attempted, the suspect accelerated and continued northbound. Deputies and the North Dakota Highway Patrol pursued the vehicle, and a tire deflation device was used, which resulted in one of the vehicle's back tires deflating. However, the man continued traveling towards Walsh County.

When the truck approached North Dakota Highway 18S and 65th Street, tire deflation devices were deployed again, resulting in the two front tires of the vehicle deflating.

The stolen truck kept traveling before it crashed at the junction of North Dakota Highway 18S and North Dakota Highway 17, the car came to a stop in a field and became stuck.

Officers ordered the driver to exit the vehicle, which he did. He was taken into custody without further incident. Police say nobody was injured in the pursuit, and no other cars besides the stolen vehicle sustained damage.
