DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A resident of the G.L. Homes Community known as "Dakota" is facing multiple charges Friday after an apparently failed attempt to burglarize an apartment in a quest for drugs. Morris Connor of the 9600 block of Brook Isles Avenue in "Dakota" is out of jail on nearly $20,000 bond.

According to a police report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com , Connor and another person were supposed to meet with a woman in Greenacres to purchase or obtain "lean" which is described by police as a drug. When no one answered the door where the "lean" was to be provided, Connor and another person opened the unlocked apartment door and entered. They are allegedly seen on video surveillance rummaging through the apartment and ultimately taking a bottle of Clonazepam — a seizure medication also used as a sedative.

Witnesses to the apparent break-in called the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. Deputies arrived in moments and allegedly saw Connor Morris attempting to flee the scene. When a citizen tried to block him into the parking lot, Morris allegedly tried to drive around the blocking car and managed to hit four others cars int he process. He was ultimately cuffed by cops who charged him with the following offenses:

"Battery on specified personnel," "burglary of an unoccupied dwelling," "possession of a controlled substance without a prescription," "criminal mischief over $200 but under $1000 dollars," and "resist and officer without violence."

Connor Morris was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and later released on $25,000 bond. He is a partial owner of the home in Dakota which the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser says has a total market value of $945,861.
