Marian Franklin, 80, formerly of the Waterton section of Huntington
Township, died Wednesday at West Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center in
East Pennsboro Township in Cumberland County. Born Jan. 13, 1919, in Sweet
Valley, she was a daughter of the late Clifford W. and Anna (Wilkinson)
Stroud. She had training as a licensed practical nurse at Wilkes-Barre General
Hospital, and later was a nurse at Retreat State Hospital. She was a member of
Town Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Edmund C.; sister, Mildred Wilson; and brothers, Robert and Fred. Surviving
are her daughter, Rebecca Anne McMichael, Mechanicsburg; son, Jay Edmund
Franklin, Carlisle; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Freda
Kitchen, Harrisburg; and brothers, Richard, Sweet Valley; and Clifford, North
Lake, Sweet Valley. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday from the Clarke
Piatt Funeral Home, Inc., on Sunset Lake Road in Hunlock Creek. The Rev.
Barbara Wodrig of Town Hill United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment
will be in Scott Cemetery in Huntington Township. Friends may call from 9 a.m.
until the time of services Monday.
