Mario Balotelli 'receives offer from third-tier Spanish side' but the former Man City striker may need to wait until January before playing for what would be the 12th club of his career

Mario Balotelli is reportedly reviewing an offer from Alicante-based team CF Intercity in the third tier of Spanish football.

The 34-year-old has been a free agent since leaving Adana Demirspor in Turkey this summer.

Balotelli scored seven goals in 16 games in the Turkish Super Lig last season, before he was sent off in his final appearance of the campaign.

The 36-time Italy international - who last represented his country in 2018 - has so far played for 11 different teams during a turbulent club career - Lumezzane, Inter Milan, City, AC Milan , Liverpool , Nice, Marseille, Brescia, Monza, Sion and Adana.

According to Cope Alicante and AS , talks between Intercity and Balotelli are going well but no deal has yet been agreed.

If Balotelli was to strike a deal with Intercity it is understood that he would need to wait until January before making his debut.

This is due to Intercity not having any space in their current squad.

However, the club could be willing to bring in Balotelli much sooner than January to allow him to train with the first team while they wait for him to become available to play.

Intercity, formed in 2017 in a takeover of GCD Sant Joan d'Alacant, have a stadium capacity of just 2,000.

They have since been promoted three times but have been in the third level of the Spanish league system since 2022.
