Mario Cristobal throws subtle shade at ACC schedule makers after Miami's comeback win at Cal

Mario Cristobal was happy with Miami's comeback win over Saturday night, but threw some shade at ACC schedule makers along the way.

An epic comeback and 39-38 final score, that should be the story right? Meanwhile, Cristobal and Miami traveled 3,000 or so miles going from South Florida to the west coast and Cal had two weeks of rest.

That seemed to be Cristobal's gripe after the game.

"Credit to them, they had two weeks to prepare for us," Cristobal said postgame. "We got every wrinkle, every call you could imagine, and they, you know, it's awesome. It's awesome to travel three thousand miles, have the air conditioner busted in there, have the opposing team have two weeks to prepare for it. Aside from that, everything's perfectly fine."

Miami improved to 6-0 and at least played at home last week, a Friday night by the way. The Hurricanes had an extra day, but it seems like Cristobal didn't appreciate Cal getting two weeks to prep for this one.

Cristobal was pretty satisfied with QB Cam Ward after the game. He was 35-53 for 437 yards, two touchdowns, one interception and scored another touchdown on the ground.

Ward was responsible for the storming back in the fourth quarter, in which Miami outscored Cal 21-3.

"I've said it a million times," Cristobal said . "I've got complete and utter faith in that guy and everything he represents and stands for."

Cristobal's quarterback has been a revelation for the undefeated Hurricanes.

"Nobody played their best ball, so we just can't put ourselves in these situations to have to come back," Ward said. "That's two games straight we had to do that. We got to lock in. ... It's good to get a win. We're not going to complain. Ugly wins are better than good losses ...

"Just keep playing. Can't come back from 25 trying to get it in one drive. So just take it play by play, have belief and when you got the right guys on the team like we do, you can do some good stuff."

At least Cristobal has a player like that so he can forget about the scheduling. By the way, it lightens up a bit as Miami gets a bye week before traveling to take on on October 19th.

God bless the ACC schedule makers right?
