Martin Luther King Jr. Commission celebrates 60 years of Civil Rights Act

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – It was 60 years ago today that the Civil Rights Act was signed into law.

That's what led the Arkansas Martin Luther King Jr . Commission to hold several events to celebrate.

The commission officials announced the re-launch of two of their programs, the Dream Keepers and the Leadership Education and Acceptance of Diversity Program.

These initiatives, officials said, will help kids have positive impacts on their lives and become leaders in their communities.

They also had a Recommitment March and honored two people from North Little Rock who have built up the community.
