Mary (Reese) Gilligan, of North Main Street in Wilkes-Barre died Thursday
at ManorCare in Kingston. Born in the East End section of Wilkes-Barre, she
was the daughter of the late Harry Reese and the late Bridget Curran. She was
a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. She was a member of St. John the
Evangelist Church in Wilkes-Barre and the parish Women’s Guild. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Walter. Surviving are her daughters,
Kathleen McRue, of Connecticut; and Denise Wechter, of New York; and three
grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Corcoran
Funeral Home, 20 N. Main St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial
at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s
Cemetery in Hanover Township. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Arrangements are by Frederick C. Chandler,
funeral director.
