SPRINGFIELD (WCIA) — Needing a birdie on the last, Max McGreevy had 12 feet to secure his second win on the Korn Ferry Tour and the Oklahoma grad delivered. After bogeying the 17th, McGreevy entered the final hole tied for the lead, but he rallied on the 72nd hole carding a two under 69 to win.

"It's all I was looking for was a chance, I was telling myself that," said McGreevy. "Looked at a couple pictures of my wife and my baby to come in my yardage book, it calmed me down and I was ready to go."

The victory punches McGreevy's ticket back to the PGA Tour, where he played last season before losing his card.

It was also a good weekend for the two Illini who made the cut. Jackson Buchanan finished tied for 39th in his Korn Ferry Tour debut. Overall he leaves encouraged after posting 13-under, the only amateur in the field to make the weekend.

"I take confidence just knowing that I can compete," said Buchanan. "I didn't have my game on the weekend and I struggled a little bit on those first two rounds but just knowing I can compete."

Dylan Meyer finished T48 in Springfield. His even-par 71 left him wanting more, but he will take the finish and paycheck as he looks to gain full-time status.

"You can't get discouraged if you come out and shoot 12-under like I did this week and you finished 46th," said Meyer. "Yeah you're far off from the lead but it's pretty positive that I can shoot a couple low numbers to get me to where I'm at right now and build some momentum for the rest of the season."

The John Deere Classic begins Thursday, July 4 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.
