MEDINA, Ohio – While East Reagan Parkway will remain open during the rehabilitation project that has begun, City Engineer Patrick Patton warns motorists that the work will likely cause congestion and traffic delays. "The project was approved and work is scheduled to begin this week, possibly Wednesday or Thursday," Patton said Oct. 28. "East Reagan will remain open during the project but it will be down to one lane during construction and traffic will be maintained through flaggers and temporary signals." While work on East Reagan Parkway has begun, Parks and Recreation Director Jansen Wehrley said motorists might be relieved to know that the final touches on West Smith Road have officially wrapped up. Wehrley announced that the city's forestry department just wrapped up its fall tree planting program. "We planted a total of 84 trees throughout town and that includes 33 on West Smith Road in the section that was just completed so that is now all wrapped up," he said. Also during the meeting, Economic Development Director Kimberly Marshall announced that people are starting to take notice of the city's new workforce and talent newsletter. "We started that about a month ago and so far 195 people have subscribed to it," she said. "Each week we are able to highlight four or five local companies that have job opportunities available."
