IBERIA PARISH, La. () — As a long-time attorney with years of experience in title work and the Clerk of Court's office, David Groner believes now is his time to take over the position as the Iberia Parish Assessor.

"Absolutely no question that my education as a lawyer, attorney and licensed title attorney super qualifies me to perform all the services needed in the Assessor's Office," Groner said.

Groner said a change is needed in the office of the parish assessor. One of his main priorities is building a better online presence to allow more transparency so people can know what is going on.

"I want honesty. I want to bring back the human element to the assessor's office so people feel comfortable coming in and talking to me and making sure they get a fair assessment of their property value," he said.

Groner said he decided to run because he believes there is a need for improvement. He said his years of public service, legal talents, and experience in government make him he best candidate in the race.

"So that's why I think we need someone new in the office. We need a change in the office and I think I present a good quality choice for Iberia Parish for assessor," he said.
