Megan Thee Stallion Leads 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards Nominations

The 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards are on the horizon, and the excitement is building. Rapper Megan Thee Stallion leads with 12 nominations, followed by 2024 heavyweight MC Kendrick Lamar. Read more and check out the full list of nominations inside.

BET has officially announced the return of Grammy-nominated artist and media personality Fat Joe as the host and co-executive producer for the third year in a row. This year's awards show, set to take place in a brand new location in Las Vegas on October 8, will air on October 15, 2024, at 8 PM ET/PT on BET.

Fat Joe shared his excitement, saying, "Joe Crack is back for the 3-peat, night night baby. It's been a dream to host the 'BET Hip Hop Awards' the past few years, and I'm looking forward to taking things to the next level in Las Vegas."

Leading the nominations for the 19th annual show is Megan Thee Stallion, with a stunning 12 nominations across major categories, including 'Song of the Year,' 'Lyricist of the Year,' and 'Hip Hop Artist of the Year.' K Dot follows closely behind with 11 nominations, including nods for 'Best Hip Hop Video,' 'Best Live Performer,' and 'Lyricist of the Year.' Drake rounds out the top three with 8 nominations.

Other notable contenders include Cardi B, GloRilla, Metro Boomin, and Nicki Minaj, each earning 7 nominations. Future and Travis Scott also secured impressive recognition, each with 6 nominations.

BET's EVP of Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy, Connie Orlando, emphasized the importance of the nominees this year, saying, "This year's nominees exemplify the creativity and diversity of hip hop and the culture. We congratulate each nominee on their accomplishments and are excited to see how they will elevate hip hop artistry."
